"Slack or Tight" Parody by MarthaDTox

You're pushin' fifty and it's startin' to show
You're not so nifty
You've just let yourself go
You need to get up off your ass now
start workin' out ''.
you know that I'm right
an' if you're thinking of buying Levis
well you'd better wear them slack not tight

Your personal trainer costs an arm and a leg
He's such a sadist he just loves you to beg
But I guess you can't complain
I bet you fantasise about him all night
And if you're thinking about a diet
Now don't be tempted by those Malborough Lights

I'm tired of all these treadmills
I'm tired of all this stuff
I'm tired of all this fitness
I've really had enough
I don't care if I'm chubby
I don't care if I'm hot
I don't care if you think I'm cool
I'm happy with what I've got

Who needs perfection .?..all that bending and stretchin
Twisting round in all directions
It sure hurts like hell lifting those dumbbells
I think my gym days are through.. oh well
Don't wanna be no winner.. get no thinnerr
I'll be a sinner I'll settle for that
The gym's a rat race not a human place
An I don't wanna spend my life bein' a rat

And if you don't agree with
Feel free to kick some sand in my eye
I'm fixin to buy those Levis
An' it don't matter if they're slack or tight

Ooh, Ooh
Yea, Yea, Yea Now
Ooh, Ooh
Yea, Yea, Yea Now

Too slack too tight
Who's to tell me what's right etc etc

whooooo

(SOTM) what was supposed to be here---> "start workin' out ."? A cool shout-out against the "low-carb" world.

I see, another drop-out from the Gym world's push-ups and sit-up and God knows what-ups.

"Slack or Tight" is a great sub for "Black or White." Fave lines: "He's such a sadist he just loves you to beg" and "The gym's a rat race not a human place." But thanks to my new year's resolutions, I'll be seeing you at the gym. Fun stuff, Martha My Dear.

I will look forward to that Spaff!

First of all, I wouldn't be too excited about Spaff: apparently his resolutions usually involve G-strings, mouseketeer-whacking, that sort of thing. Anyway, I can totally get behind this concept; loose clothing is my friend. Very good job.

(SOTM) Can't remember exactly how it went, but the late Hoyt Axton had a song long ago that used the line "built for comfort not for speed"...it was a lot of fun and very, very much in the vein of his best writing....yes, old Hoyt was no "economy model", that's for sure...Nice work, Martha...5's...

I had to give you 3's 'cause jeans aren't too funny to parody and I DKTOS all that well anymore. Nice try though.

"I'm tired of all these treadmills...I'm happy with what I've got" - I can relate to that... boy, can I relate to that :-) Another super parody.

(SOTM) Ah, yes, the quest for physical fatness, er, I mean, fitness ...

SOTM--Exercise? Yeah...it's overrated. Nice job!

(SOTM) well Jacko's pushing fifty and he still seems nifty - or is that shifty? - nice one Martha

Very good title, very good parody. Having seen your photo on the photo thread, the line about your age starting to show definitely does not apply to you.
