The Lyrics

Hedgestock was a rock festival staged by guess what the hedge fund industry...dubbed an "kick asset rock concert" starring the Whosort of leaves one speechless!!!A sweet spread refers to a method of betting/gambling very popular amongst the traders in the financial district!! Aussies are the Autralian cricket team the wickets are a batsman's innings, which may be terminated by the ball knocking the bails off the stumps.A camper is a volkswagon camper van.. which was used as the logo for the festival...A punt is a bet or a gamble The Who was a pop group popular in the 60s Pete is Pete Townsend the lead guitarist, Roger is Roger Daltry the Lead singer....
The ageing hippies' camper
Is rocking to the sounds of a guitar
And I'm following the cricket
Down the highway
Doin 90 in the the coolest car
I'm goin to Hedgestock
Hedgestock
That's the gig for me
I'm goin to Hedgstock

Rich boys and their girlfriends and families
We are goin to Hedgestock
And my travelling companion
Is yellin down the phone
Cos he's bettin on Aussie wickets
But I've reason to believe
That we'll all be very pleased
Down in Hedgestock

And he calls out to me that we've won
As if I didn't know that
As if I didn't know the right bet
As if I hadn't figured
How to make a turn from a sweet spread

And he said a losin punt
Is like a window on your heart
Everybody knows you're blown apart
Everybody feels the wind blow

We're goin to Hedgestock Hedgestock
That's the gig for me
We're goin to Hedgestock

Rich boys and their girlfriends and their families
We are goin to Hedgestock

My travelling companions
Are coke and easy profits
We are lookin to party
And I've got reason to believe
That we'll all be very pleased
Down in Hedgestock

We run a hedge fund in the city
It really is the hottest scene
And sometimes when I'm trading
And I'm flying and the market's in turmoil
I say woah so this is what it means
It means we're cruisin into Hedgestock

And I know a losin punt
Is like window in your heart
Everybody sees you're blown apart
Everybody feels the wind blow
At Hedgestock Hedgestock
I'm goin to Hedgestock

For some reason I can't explain
There's some part of me
wants to see Hedgestock
And I may be obliged to defend
Old Pete and Roger and the rest
Or maybe there's really no need to now
Maybe I've reason to believe
They will be well received
Down in HedgestockI

A little too much of the original ideas in there, Martha, but pretty clever nonetheless.

Thanks for the comment agri! I was trying to make as much of the original storyline fit...

I've got to agree with Agri, but the substitution of "losin punt" for "losing love" did produce a very funny verse.
