Original Song Title:

"Nothing Compares To You"

Original Performer:

Prince

Parody Song Title:

"Nothing Compares to Food"

Parody Written by:

Alexandra

The Lyrics

It's been 7 hours and 15 days
Since you took my carbs away
I eat steak every night and fish all day
Since you took my carbs away from me
Since they've been gone I can eat all the bacon I want
I can eat meat veggies and cheese
I eat my salad in a fancy restaurant
But nothing, I said nothing, will take away these pangs

Because nothing compares
Nothing compares, to food

Its been so long since I've been so thin
Oh I wish i had some chocolate cake
I went to a doctor and guess what she told me
She said, "Girl you better try to eat carbs no matter what you do"
And she's right because

Nothing compares
Nothing compares, to food
Nothing compares
Nothing compares, to food
Nothing compares
Nothing compares, to food

repeat chorus to fade

Uhmmm... I WROTE this song, but I myself never performed it. Sinead O'Connor performed it.

You forgot a verse. Too bad, you were going great with it. But if you're gonna parody a song, you gotta do the whole song! Nothing compares, nothing compares to that mistake.

Also, put the name of the artist that performed the original. I know that Prince wrote the song, but as he said above, he himself never performed it.
Agrimorfee - October 14, 2004 - Report this comment
Prince DID perform it, it was a B-side and is included in his Hits compilations. But that's irrelevant here. Alexandra, have to agree here, wish you had the extra verse. 454
Sinead O'Connor - October 14, 2004 - Report this comment
My version is still the most famous.

While this is an old board, first of all SINEAD is NOT posting. What a joke. Secondly, Prince has performed this song many many times and I have it on my computer. Went to his concert in San Jose in 05, and he performed it there too. So y'all no nothing.

There is ANOTHER parody of this somg. I remember hearing it in the 90s & it had the line "I can eat my dinner at a fancy Burger King."

I distintly remember hearing this song exactly twice on the radio i. the 90s. The DJS loved parodies, but anything not done by Weird Al seemed to get lost with time. I coulda sworn one od the lines was "I can eat my dinner at a fancy Burger King," unless that was an SNL parody.
