The Lyrics

Firstly, I'd like to point out that this isn't intended as an anti-Islamic song: it's intended to poke a little fun at those misguided souls who decide that killing themselves just so that they can take some other innocents with them is supposed to be some kind of good thing. Which, IMO, is just plain stupid, whatever your religion happens to be.
I'm spending Ramadan here with the Taliban
With my idols,
Suicidal
Guys like me
By 'Id al-Adha, I'm in Baghdadh
Proving I'm nuts to show my guts for all to see

Muslim religion ain't got no karma
But I'm so calm that I've become a suicide barma

Milad-an-Nabi, try to take out a rabbi
And in Muharram, I'll really try to scare 'em

But come 'Ashura, that's just the time for me
That's when I really get the urge in
To go out and get my virgins
Do you think it's un-Islamic
To be using bombs, atomic
Spending Ramadan, here with the Taliban
Guys like me

I'm spending Ramadan in ol' Afghanistan
With my idols,
Suicidal
Guys like me
But this occasion, there came invasion
Those nasty Yankees in their tankees
Set us "free"

So much for spending my time enraptured
Those guys I fought
They went and caught
Me - so now I'm captured

I'm gonna spend a mo
In ol' Guantanamo
As a suspect they
Lock me up in Camp X-Ray

Now I'm locked up in Cuba by the sea
Just because I gotta smidgin
Of that Islamist religion
And if I weren't Islamic
It'd all be rather comic
'Cause I really, really wanna
Blow myself right to Nirvana
Spending Ramadan, here with the Taliban
Guys like me

DKTOS but allow me to quote Umberto Eco: "Terrorism is a biological consequence of the multinationals, just as a day of fever is the reasonable price of an effective vaccine." I'm not exactly sure how to interpret that, and I think it was said before even the first war against Iraq, but it often comes to my mind when these fanatics blow themselves up.

As a fan of Mr. Lehrer's musings, I really like that some people are parodying his stuff. And this one is not only funny and well-paced... but also very timely. Huzzah and kudos to yah. {Adam Sessler} I give you all fives... out of fives! {/Adam Sessler}
