The Lyrics

Anyone remember the Bop It? I do. And boy, did it leave a scar...
Ah, ah, ah, ta-ta
Ta, ta, ta, ayata

The concept's very simple, just have to turn it on
Respond to the instructions that the crappy speaker calls
Hope your score climbs, don't be subpar, it's not hard

Voice clips so obnoxious, want to throw it far
You will hate that chipper doofus, he'll leave a brain scar
What a headache, fly in a rage, that seems harsh

That twitch in your eye
From a children's toy, why?
Bop it, pull it, twist it, kill it

You don't know how it got here, you just want it thrown out
A foolish Christmas gift, must have been on sale, no doubt
Still it's unsmashed, might return it for cash, but

You still want to try
New record score is nigh
Bop it, pull it, twist it, kill it

Hey!
Oh, oh
Ah, ah, ah, ta-ta
Ta, ta, ta, ayata

The squeaking of the plastic, how your sweat makes it gleam
It can cause a man to crack and throw it right through one's TV
Wonder when will this run out of juice? It is a farce
Oh, why?

Should have let it lie
No, you just had to try, dunce
Bop it, pull it, twist it, kill it

Oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh-oh, aaagh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, ahaha, oh

The version I'm familiar with actually had two additional commands (spin and flick), but there wasn't enough room for all five in the title, so I just stuck to the original three and the lust for murder. As you do.

I remember the Bop It and yes that voice was extremely obnoxious! Great toy song for the upcoming Xmas Holidays!

Bopped, twisted parody.

Years ago when my 5 year old unwrapped his present..looked at me... like what the hell does that do? Threw it on the floor and continued to open the others ....When a kid doesn't want to play with something just by looking at it...How did they get us to buy it?....Gave it away to Goodwill...it's still there

Thank you Matthias, Max Power and Dave W.

...I don't know whether to report the above comment. I mean, it says in my author page that "Due to reasons of "not wanting to type out my whole name as I didn't have/wasn't aware of the auto-recall feature at the time", I go by bobpiecheese in the comments." so someone's using my name. But on the other hand, they're just using it to write the kind of banal "thank you" comment that I always feel awkward writing because it's vague enough to feel insincere for some reason (probably the Asperger's, I dunno), so unless this ends up being a precursor to some hate comments, reporting it feels like it'd only feed that one troll who takes my previously-stated awkwardness as arrogance. Mostly I'm just glad that other people remember the Bop It for this parody to resonate.

I think you need to learn some manners. You don’t like saying thank you and your username the_conqueror_of_parodies does indeed sound arrogant. There are other authors who write FAR better parties than you.

The author of the parody has authorized comments, and wants YOUR feedback.
