The Lyrics

At a recent town-hall meeting on medical reform in Dartmouth MA, Representative Barney Frank responded to one woman's question by saying, "It's like arguing with a dining-room table, for which I have no interest." Here is my imagined correspondence from him to a companion, based on this OS.
Queer, I thought I'd pop a tweet.
The A/C's cool, the lokes in heat.
I'm in dread of right defeat.
Congress I love blue.

Yesterday I had some pain-
ful call-in calls; they rant, complain.
They don't trust me, it is plain.
Congress I love blue.

White are these clowns, crusty, loony, unstable,
So lame, unsound, they drawl.
I spurned a-hole, called her "dining room table";
She bets we'll shrink, likes less and small.

Nothing else that I can say
Will show their closed minds I hold sway.
Ev'rybody's thinking I'm through.
Congress I love blue.
I can't make this stuff up; politicians have a habit of stepping into it.

Well done as usual! ;D

A dining-room table, huh? Parodists will never lack for material when politicians are around...

Some of the parodists around here are like talking to a wall... at least you can eat from a table. Besides, isn't a Congressman making that remark a case of the pot calling the kettle black?

To avoid any racial implication, I'd change "White are these" to "Right-winger" in line 9.

Love it, as usual! Did you see "Blarney's" latest? Regarding the current deadlock in Congress, he said "The public cannot be totally absolved of responsibility. They elected us." Some days the jokes -- though not the parody songs -- almost write themselves, don't they?
