Can't you say anything good about this song? Just saying 'good' then correcting the artist name seems a bit trite. Who cares who the artist is. This is a good parody. Why can't you just leave it at that? Sometimes your comments are 'clucked up'.

I'm sure you're right Michael: the lyric site I used (and the only mp3 I could find) was Bobby Vee, so that's who I thought must have been the original.
