Why are you setting a numerical goal, rather than aiming for quality? Do you plan to quit when you reach 4000 or whatever the figure is. It took me years to reach 200, but my goal is to write good parodies when the inspiration comes, not to just churn out some arbitrary figure. Leough, one of the best writers here, hasn't officially reached 200 yet, but his stuff is well thought out and shows a lot of work. I would like to see AIR continue, not just vanish after the better writers give up for whatever reason. I may have one or two parodies left in me, and I need somewhere to put them.

I think I can honestly say, Patrick, that over the years I have done a few quality parodies. At least I have the balls to post, unlike the cowardly anonymous types who submit nothing but moronic opinions and/or mindless 1's. This site has so seriously deteriorated of late, it's a mere shadow of what is was when I first joined. Almost all the good parodists have gone and, modesty aside, I include myself in that category. I recently corresponded with one of said good parodists who cited the Parody portion of the site's degeneration as that parodist's reason for departing. Anyway, you have a point: 4K is indeed arbitrary, so f**k it. I'm actually a bit over the magic number if the 100-plus I've done under assumed names is factored in to the total. So, goal accomplished. Outta here until/if the site regains even some of its former luster--or I have the occasional inspiration.
