The Lyrics

A doxology is a short hymn of praise to God that is often added to the end of Christian worship services. The word "doxology" comes from the Greek words doxa, meaning "glory" or "opinion", and dokein, meaning "to seem" or "to seem good". The suffix -logia refers to written or oral expression. In Unitarian Universalism, "the Doxology" typically refers to Curtis W. Reese's adaptation of "From all that dwell below the skies", an 18th-century paraphrase of Psalm 117 by Isaac Watts: "From all that dwell below the skies, let faith and hope with love arise, let beauty, truth and good be sung, through every land, by every tongue."
For all whose smell rises sky-high,
please take some soap and then apply
it so you won’t reek like a skunk,
or you’ll be bleak, your love life sunk.

After that soap you have applied:
no fear friends won’t stand by your side.
You will not reek of a foul funk;
people nearby will not howl, “Skunk!”
