The Lyrics

I've already done one like this to the same tune.. six years ago, the last time we had serious blizzards. Though in this case, I used the Dean Martin version with an extra couple of verses, 'cause I had more to say :-)
Oh, the weather forecast is sayin'
That there's more snow on the way in
But grit stocks are way down low
Oh, no! Snow,
Oh, no! Snow,
No mo' snow

But the children are all a-hopin'
That their schools ain't gonna open
Think of all the balls they'll throw
Flinging snow
Frigging snow

When I finally get outside
With a spade to clear a path
From the front door to the drive
I know that I'll fall on my arth

And the radio says "it's easing"
But my bollocks are ****ing freezing
And I'm worried they're gonna go
Off in snow
Off in snow
Effin' snow

When I've finally cleared the drive
And I'm heading off to work
Start worryin' will I arrive?
Some drivers are ****ing berserk

What really pissed me off is
I was half-way to the office
But could I get back home? No
Stuck in snow

Stuck
in
snow

*uckin' snow
..we're really not very good at dealing with large amounts of snow in this country

Even if it were true, tell me again why global warming is a bad thing.

What Patrick said, except it *isn't* true. In the late 1970s, the earth entered a period of global cooling that left scientists predicting we'd all be a frozen ball of ice by now, and sent NASA scurrying to shoot satellites up to see if anything could be done. It's been warming and cooling since it began.

And the 1930s were a period of warming, causing the "Dust Bowl" phenomenon in the US Great Plains, loooong before widespread use of automobiles and with a much lower population. 555 and pity for The Shiver'd Isle.

I spent several years braving those types of winters, so you have my sympathy. Also an LOL at "Off in snow/Effin snow" switch. :)

Bravo, Phil...I had a similar plan for this OS, but you beat me to it. For our American friends who may not be aware...the UK is experiencing the worst winter weather for 30 years, which has pretty much brought the whole nation to a standstill. When it first hit just before Christmas, one day it took me 3.5 hours to travel the 8 mikes from work to home (and involved abandoning my car and walking the last 3 miles). Phil probably has similar tales of ewoe. Oh, yeah...555 inches of powdery stuff for you mate.

Cool comedy caper, compadre!

:-) Thanks, all

Patrick - maybe you ought to read up about the difference between "climate" and "weather"

K - I like the idea of travelling 8 mikes to work.. fortunately, though, I have no similar tales as I can work from home... though the two worst-hit areas in the recent bit of snow have been where I live and where I work.

Why doesn't the snow stay in Scandanavia where it belongs? lol Good job, mate! ;D
