Song Parodies -> "Buy Me A Balloon"

Original Song Title:

"Fly Me To The Moon"

Original Performer:

Frank Sinatra

Parody Song Title:

"Buy Me A Balloon"

Parody Written by:

Airfarcewon

The Lyrics

Buy me a balloon
My little daughter..used to say
When I would she'd drop the string
And..watch it drift away..

In other words,
Let..'em.. fly..
In other words,
Gave...'em
Freedom...

Now my daughter's grown..
She's deep in love,.
And marrying
Like..balloons..from long ago
I..must...release the string..

In other words,
Let..her..fly..
In other words,
Give...her..freedom

On their honeymoon
A drunken driver crashed their car
No one in the wreck survives
I...lose my shining star..

In other words,
Heav'n called..
In other words,
Angel's gone..

Buy me a balloon
Four little words she used to say..
In my heart,..I hear them still,
As clear..as on that day..

Like those balloons,
She's flown high
In other words,
She..won't..die..

Was this inspired by the first episode of CSI New York? (Gary Sinise's wife is dead, all he has left of her and is holding on to is a ballon filled with the air from her lungs, very clever idea).

Oh heck, AFW. Beautiful, but heart-wrenchingly sad. Please don't tell me this is your own story.....

Sir, this is so well-written!! It is very moving, and as LordKristof has said, I hope it is NOT 'your' story! It stands as a tribute to you as the loving Dad !

I didn't know there were dramatic parodies on AmIRight.... this parody, when compared to the comedic parodies on this site, reminded me of level 12 of Elite Beat Agents, if you know what I mean.... anyways, 555.

AFW, I'm writing an AmIRight opera called "Elite Beat Agents: AmIRight Edition" and I have to ask you: can I use this parody as the sole drama parody in the opera? I would have to re-upload the parody under the parodist name of "Elite Beat Agents: AmIRight Edition (An AmIRight Opera Managed by DJ Blaze)", credit you in the song title and description, and add the scenario to the parody at the beginning and the story intervals between the choruses and the next lines. So, what do you say? Would you like this great parody to be part of the next AmIRight opera?
AFW - June 09, 2009 - Report this comment
As long as you give me name credit..I see no reason why not...sure, go ahead..good luck with your opera

Thank you, Airfarcewon! ONce I get to Episode 12 I'll use it. Trust me, I'll give you name credit. Big fan of your parodies.
