Parody Song Title:

"Drunken Barque"

Parody Written by:

John A. Barry

The Lyrics

Aired-out sails and a crew, ship trip set to ensue
for the drunken barque.
Composed in classic rhyme in a long-ago time,
verse of drunken barque.

Down the river boat streams as if it’s in a dream.
In this scene there are seen things that that might warp your bean.
The ride will be exciting; the boat makes its way
through your mind; the poet’s art is on display.

Verse is not of this earth, and it serves to give birth
to new rungs of art.
Its author is a star, in age not gone too far…
such a young upstart.

All of his works survive, though he isn’t alive.
He’s just past 35 when his life took a dive.
He made im/expressive art; experts now remark…
just a young pup when he thunk up drunken barque.
