Parody Written by:

The Lyrics

This parody is done to match the Delacorte Theater version with George Rose as the MG (from YouTube).
(There are other versions – this is the one where he is wearing a white uniform with a red sash).

All words or phrases marked with * have a meaning listed in the table below the parody.
A lot of UK slang will mean something completely different to someone from the US.
Some words have been added because they can have other, more obvious, meanings as well.
There are a few pacing anomalies in the song that are also explained below the parody.

A flight across the puddle, now I’m here in California
I’m hopin’ for some girly action, coz I heard they’re hornier
I want the sins of your land, and I’m up for nights all Heather-y
That Aniston an’ Hoffs’ll do: a foursome, all togethery

I need a belle, an’ quickly too; hope Jamie’s gonna flatter me
I’m up for tanned an’ muscled; fine example: she could batter me
I might try Diaz an’ Pfeiffer; extreme indeed: that *totty, nude
(Spoken line)
Ooh, totty, nude; totty, nude…love it!
(Resume singing)
Want them to pose for snaps, an’ hope to view the Jolie *botty, nude

(Want then to nose their flaps, an’ hope to view the Ricci botty, nude)
(Want them to close their *traps: don’t want to view the bitchy totty feud)
(But then, no shows of baps: got beaten to it by that ruddy *Scotti dude)

He’s very good at jumpin’ in and takin’ all the totty stuff
He only does terrific dames; of them, he’s never got enough
In short, in matters cream o’ ladies, on ‘em all and in ‘em all
Were ripe for dirty glories; he’s had forty eight; unclad, ‘em all

(In sport, in matters team o’ ladies, on ‘em all and in ‘em all)
(All hype: the dirty stories; I exaggerate, an’ pad ‘em all)

-----

I dig your music history; now Jerry’s dead, less hippy stuff
He used to burn the joss sticks, an’ get pretty spaced on trippy stuff
A band I love is Primus; all the rhymes are wordily wonder-ous
Their sonics really soar; the bass of Les, it is so thunderous

I…know well, the song of smelly cats from Central Perk and dippy Pheebs
She’s played by Lisa Kudrow, and her “Friends” are mostly drippy dweebs
Now I will see a gig, in which I’ll hear the Hagar’s mighty roar
(Spoken line)
Ooh, mighty roar, mighty roar…love it!
(Resume singing)
Not lame: the vocal blast; I dug the Halen eighties mighty four

(A shame it didn’t last, but still the Halen sate, I’m mighty sure)
(His fame, it hasn’t passed, an’ still the Halen: great; a mighty draw)
(The blame is in the past, but still his Halen hate is mighty, mighty raw)

A man not bright is Dewey Finn; the shabby, chronic tool o’ rock
I know it’s only actin’; he’s the character in “School o’ Rock”
For ganja cookies: nuts, an’ cravin’; Cheech Marin: one wacky bloke
He pairs with Tommy Chong, an’ they’re the cream o’ stoner wacky folk

(His Sister Mary’s nuts, an’ ravin’; teaches in one wacky joke)
(He shares the Tommy bong, an’ then the beam o’ stoner wacky smoke)

-----

Got whacked, by Dirty Harry feat; that Scorpio was killin’ ‘em
An’ I thought Clint was right to make a few more; he was *brill in ‘em
I’d utter “Cheers” to Danson if I met him in his tiny bar
And then I’d ask ol’ Tiger how he got that job as hiney tsar

When he gets mad, Bill Bixby’s *togs are frayed, an’ fits of greenery
Well, I don’t want them chick flicks with the lavish summer scenery
Bruce Lee would give a battering: a choppy “dent an’ splatter ‘em”
(Spoken line)
Ooh, I say, that’s a good one, *innit, splatter ‘em, splat…ha, ha, ha, ha…love it!
(Resume singing)
I’d say, a better fighter overall; he’d ever scatter ‘em

(An’ David Carradine as Mister Caine; he’d ever batter ‘em)
(And Easy Money, he would muster same; he’d ever batter ‘em)
(An’ Popeye Doy-le, he would cuss an’ maim; he’d ever shoot or batter ‘em)

Now to Monica re cigar: went to D.C. and was resident
Some pants were then pulled down, an’ there was sinning with the President
A boon for papers an’ the cable, but for Bill, was nigg-l-in’
And in his Oval Office was the joker, who was gigg-l-in’

(Got poon an’ capers on the table; butt, for Bill, was jigg-l-in’)
(And in her oval office was the smoker he was wigg-l-in’)

A few points on pacing anomalies – don’t know if all versions are the same:
(a-BOUT bi-NO-mi-al THEO-rem) = (I might try Diaz an’ Pfeiffer)
(all the CRIMES of HE-li-o-GAB-a-lus) = (all the rhymes are wordily wonder-ous)
(I…can TELL un-DOUBT-ed RAPH-a-ELS) = (I know well, the song of smelly cats)
(for my MIL-i-TAR-y KNOW-ledge) = (Now to Monica re cigar)

There are 2 extra syllables (in the last lines only) in each section of triple repeated lines (in brackets)

Totty = sexually desirable females
Botty = bottom
Trap = mouth
Scotti = Mark Scotti on a solo holiday (we won’t tell the wife). Hope you didn’t mind the surprise appearance - you can see by the previous lines that I just had to use it.
Brill = excellent
Togs = clothes
Innit = isn’t it

Andy - Where will you land next? That bit at the end with a bit of cigar wigglin' really got me gigglin'. You no doubtedly spent a good chunk of time working on these MGs. And who could forget "Sister Mary Elephant"? Now class, Class CLASS! Read up! This is good stuff here, Also like learning some of the British terms that you incorporate into the work. Not only entertaining and funny but educational as well. Aisle be bach in 5 minutes. You missed the governator but then he's gotten his share of attention on this site.

I suddenly see the old song, "California, Here I Come" in an entirely new light... Delightfully twisted, as usual :) [And who knew Mark Scotti was such a rounder?]
Mark Scotti - June 29, 2010 - Report this comment
Brlilliantly episodic!!!

Thanks Guy, Christie, FG (LOL) & Mark

Guy - see the site tomorrow & you'll find out
You're right about time spent - this is my 7th go at the M-G song

Andy 7 MGs? You are going to become the resident expert on this OS as Michael Pacholek is on TWOTEF. Go for it mate! I did MG once and I can appreciate the work that it takes. Only reason that I even attempted it was to become a member of the "Big 7". It took me off and on three days to complete it. The longest write I had ever completed.

I say that Andy Primus is a modern major parodist
Too many lines to mention, good, but Eastwood was the Harry-est. ;-)

(and "brill" would have come through in context, anyway, as well as you draw your scenes.) 555+++

@ Guy: I respectfully submit that having done Song X the most times doesn't necessarily make one the resident expert, or even an expert at all, on it. Not picking on MP personally here, just general principle (although he once commented at one of my TWOTEFs, "No TWOTEF is official until I comment on it" , or words to that effect, which I found quite arrogant, presumptuous, and, most of all, false.) ... If Andy is indeed awarded that title, which he may well be, it will be through quality (excellent), not sheer quantity.

Yes, TT has done MG four times, once in two hours flat, but doesn't claim to be any more expert on it than you who did it once. It's a tough song, and each spin stands on its own, no matter how many versions you've done. Peace.

Thanks TT - thought brill would be OK but added it because it's a UK only slang. I'm guessing that the first thing an American would think of would be a fish. Guy - I work on these off and on, but for a *lot* longer than 3 days
TT - June 30, 2010 - Report this comment
There could be a fish named "brill", but I've never heard of it. "Krill", yes.
Andy P - July 01, 2010 - Report this comment
TT - it's a North Atlantic flatfish (turbot family)
TT - July 02, 2010 - Report this comment
I'm a South (-ern North) Atlantic reptile (turtle family).
North Atlantic = too cold for poikilotherms. Brrr!

@ TT - good response & with a word that you probably don't get to use very often.
