Song Parodies -> "B. O."

Original Song Title:

"Day O"

 (MP3)
Original Performer:

Harry Belafonte

Parody Song Title:

"B. O."

Parody Written by:

Airfarcewon

The Lyrics

B. O., B. O.
Should new president be called B. O.?
B., may say B., may say B., may say B. may say B.,
May say B. O.
Should new president be called B. O.?

Handsome man with a lot of class
(Not great initials, no, no no)
Can the late shows just let it pass?
(Not great initials, no, no, no)

Past presidents were known by their initials
(JFK, and also, LBJ)
But in Obama's case it could jab like missiles
(Should we just call our leader, Old B.O.?)

An old Rough Rider from years ago
(T.R., Theodore Roosevelt)
Then came from the same family
(F.D.R., Franklin Delano..)

B., now it's B. O.
(Barack could be addressed B. O.)
B., may say B., may say B.,
May say B., may say B., may say B.,
(Barack Obama...short, B. O.)

As everyone knows thats "Body Odor"
(From old commercials was B.O.)
It might not be all that proper
(To call President, old B. O.)

Maybe when he holds press conference
(He'll be introduced as B.O.)
Or at a Heads of State formal brunch
(CNN will say here's B.O.)

B. O., B. O.,
(Should new president be called B. O.?)
B., may say B., may say B., may say B.,
May say B., may say B. O.
(Should new president be called B. O.?)

B. O.! B. O.! Ho-ho ...
B. O, win, now McCain, he go home!

.. and the opposite outcome would've been lots stinkier than BO. 5s for a great grin of a parody.

Harry Belafonte slightly looks like Barack Obama, and I never thought of his initals until you brought that up. That's a hilarious point! J.M is a lot more attractive than B.O in this case, and only this case.

In Philadelphia, there's an Archbishop Wood High School, and their archrival is Monsignor Bonner, and they like to chant, "We smell B-O! N-N-E-R!" I guess this means my old pal Andrew S. Schiff can never run for President.

Funny concept AFW :) Good thing Richard Simmons isn't Mr Prez - in more ways than one.

From the title I was expecting a story about body odor, great play on words. Well hopefully Mr Obama gives us no reason to use that punchline :) BHO after all leaves no such stench, but that is a genius idea. He can't stink as much as the last pres anyway. . .

Thank you to Peregrin, and Dave

AFW, once again, you have made me laugh. My initials spell out A.L.K., which would not be ideal for, say, being CEO of the Betty Ford Clinic since those three letters sound like the first syllable of the word "alcohol" when pronounced to rhyme with "elk". 555

Thanks, Andrea...Interesting initials
2Eagle - November 09, 2008 - Report this comment
That one never occured to me until you brought it up. It is bad enough that Obama rhymes with Osama.
Andria - November 09, 2008 - Report this comment
AFW: My initials stand for "Andria Leianne Kilgore", and thank you for the compliment. 2Eagle: Thanks for mentioning the fact that our new President-Elect's last name rhymes with the first name of who may very well be the most reviled man in the world since Hitler, but I don't really care. In my opinion, the name doesn't make the person, the personality, ethics and scruples do.

What Dave said... and I enjoyed reading through the parody. 5-5-5

Airforcewon, the word "should" is connected with "entitlement thinking", which is a major component of anger.

The poor guy - that's not going to help his image.

I liked it too. At first I had a little trouble following it, but I picked up just fine. Perfect score.
