The Lyrics

Most people who accessed the Obamacare website since October 1st have been unable to complete registration. That has led to calls for resignation of the official who oversaw the web architecture as well as the formulation of 20,000+ pages of regulations to implement the "Patient Protection & Affordable Care Act" signed in 2010. She postponed her invited testimony at a congressional hearing by a week due to a schedule conflict. The President continued to sell that law and promised a quick fix. TOS told of an immigrant Irish woman who longed to return to the Emerald Isle in the late 19th century.
Kathleen Sebelius, thy web site is breaking;
The scorn of the country is heard on The Hill.
With bark from the Right Wing and fight Cruz is making,
Kathleen Sebelius, it's blundering still.

Oh, hast thou forgotten how soon we must sign up?
Oh, hast thou forgotten when payments must start?
It may be four years before many can line up;
Then why art thou silent by choice if so smart?
It may need four years 'cause it may be too clever;
Then why art thou silent, Kathleen Sebelius?

Kathleen Sebelius, awake from thy slumbers!
Though true count is slowing, The One's holding tight.
Ah! Where is the well healthy young in high numbers?
Arise, do thy duty: health care's now my right.

Kathleen Sebelius, my glad cheers are galling,
To think that from H.H.S. lead thou must part.
Oh, spare me your tears, in no way be forestalling.
Then nigh start retirement, vacating apart.
It may be your fears that delayed testifying;
Then thy heart vows silence, Kathleen Sebelius.

The last sentence of my intro is wrong; I was thinking of "I'll Take You Home Again, Kathleen" that I might parody; but "Kathleen Mavourneen" is the lament of a man who at dawn must leave Ireland and his sleeping lover, who does not waken to bid him farewell.

Very classy parody. 5s. Pacing excellent, as is the mock tone of loss, adapted from the OS. I do feel discomfort in pinning a software debacle on Kathleen, but the buck stops with her. At least she broke her silence in an interview with Sanjay Gupta.
She could have arranged to borrow a lot of proven, tight code from Massachussets. Could it be that some fanatic, anti-Obama progammers did some sabotage?
Ah, John McCormack, the great Irish tenor. I'll mention another two of his kind who sang in a lighter vein: Dennis Day and Kenny Baker. For a real treat, hear Kenny sing "Love Walked Right In." http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7W-kbu12-cU

Al: Thanks for your kind comments, vote and youtube link. I heard Dennis Day live as a youth, but I'd never heard (of) Kenny Baker. Obama won't fire Sebelius because his nominee to replace her might be rejected by the Senate.

Sebelius knew she'd not get any embarrassing questions from Sanjay. You notice she didn't sit down across from, say, Sean Hannity or Chris Wallace. I remember Dennis Day on Jack Benny's radio programs. Good, but not in McCormack's league; the latter could handle operatic material (I am unsure as to whether he ever actually appeared onstage in opera) and other classical literature as well as the more popular Irish fare.

Kathleen Sebelius was once governor of Kansas. Our gain became America's loss. If I were to meet her I'd ask to see her Obamacare registration card, serial number 5 (after Barack, Michelle, Sasha, and Malia). When she failed to produce it, I would announce that that tells me everything I need to know about the program.

At last, my final stanza has come true. Unfortunately, Obama rewarded her silence with high praise and a federal pension.
