As I drove down through

As I cruised down through
Toledo, one day
I spied a street cowboy
Within a white Lincoln
Within a white Lincoln
HIs smile, gold inlay

"I see by your Hotwheels,
You are a street cowboy"
These words, he did speak
As we sat by the light..
"Would you take a drag challenge,
And try for some glory,
Or are you too chicken
To race me tonight?"

He roared up his engine
Before I could answer
I tramped on my Dodge
It was ready to run
The light flickered yellow
I glanced in the mirror
Behind was a cop car
Reflecting the sun..

When the light became red
I could smell rubber burnin'
In the left lane, a smoke cloud
Was all that I saw
The cop flew around me
Haulin' ass on that cowboy
Next block is the Lincoln
Pulled off by the law..

I cruised by real slowly
My motor hummed lowly
Turned on the C.D.
And then popped in a song
The cowboy sneered at me
I smiled with no inlay
This free wheelin' chicken's
Still drivin' along..
