The Lyrics

Well, I never felt more like
Slingin' The Booze
'Cause you threw me out
Without any shoes
Up yours, Dear !
Why'd ya' treat me this way?

Well, I never felt more like
Drinkin' all night
The whiskey is strong
I'm high as a kite
And pissed off !
Ya' got me Slingin' The Booze..

Later on, I'll tip
Some good moonshine
'Cause you're cousin Clem's, now
You're not mine
There's just one thing
That I can do..
Git shi-i-it faced over you

Well, I never felt more like
Guzzlin' all day
The pick up won't start
The dog ran away..
Who needs you ?
Ya' got me Slingin' The Booze

Up yours, Dear !
Ya' got me Slingin' The Booze..

Fine whine indeed. Anybody who votes it ones oughta get scotched. Royce: This was Number 1 for 10 weeks in late '56 and early '57, albeit by Guy Mitchell. Marty Robbins' version was Number 1 on the country charts.

"Heaving in the john"... now THAT sounds like a parody title... perhaps to Elton's "He shall be Levon"?
