How do they invent these names, it seems like hocus pocus

From fossils all around the world they infer quite a lot

Call your one-eyed dinosaur a "Do-you-think-he-saurus"
Isn't it a load of b.. a load of "Faecotaurus"

It certainly *is* hard to believe that no one thought of this before... TMGLTM, but "Do-you-think-he-saurus", "Faecotaurus", Sauropus, and the whole last verse were LOL, and "twisting" "ankle" (so to speak) to "ankyl" with "bracelet"... well, that's just pure genius, Phil ;-) Poly-5, anna-nother great new spin on OS, contrary to certain Ants who think this genre's exhausted (cough www.amiright.com/parody/60s/julieandrews88.shtml cough).

Merry - that's pretty much what happens, in that if they find a fossil bone that doesn't fit any known Dinosaur species, there's a tendency to assume that it's a whole new one - at least one of the ones mentioned above are extrapolations of a couple of vertetbrae only.
TT - (so, is "Testudines" Latin for "Tommy", then?) - Sauropus isn't a made-up one, btw; and you reminded me I forgot to put in the "French wartime sitcom dinosaur", the alloallosaurus
Lionel - the "um diddle-iddle" bits are quite tricky to sing in this at any kind of speed, but you might get your wish, you never know..

Excellent parody with a creative idea and clever ending. But for the author of this parody and anyone else who considers doing parodies of this OS to be like "shooting fish in a barrel," may I make the following suggestions:
1. The OS has 4 (non-chorus) verses. Two of them use ABAB rhyming and two use ABCB rhyming. "Stega-Bronto-Brachylopho-Anodontosaurus" and most other AmiRight parodies of the OS only use ABCB rhyming. For anyone who parodies this OS who is looking for more of a challenge, I recommend trying ABAB rhyming.
br> 2. When the song is performed by Julie Andrews in the Mary Poppins movie, there is an additional verse in which Supercal… is sung backwards. Most AmiRight parodies of the OS do not attempt to do this. The Capitol Steps, who have parodied the OS many times, always do a backwards verse. For example, in their "Super frantic unproductive nothing legislation" parody (of the U.S. Congress), they turn it around into "Noisy squawks 'til money talks, big bucks our jobs should reap us." So again, for anyone who thinks that doing a parody of the OS is too simple, consider inserting a verse that reverses the title.
