Original Song Title:

"Lazybones"

Original Performer:

Ray Charles

Parody Song Title:

"Casey Jones"

Parody Written by:

Airfarcewon

The Lyrics

Casey Jones,
Crashed his speeding train..
Immortalized within
An old refrain..
Lost his life and suffered pain,
Read on, and we shall explain..

Casey Jones,
Wrecked his "Locomote"
In Vaughn, Mississippi,
News tale quote.
Cars on tracks, the story'd note
Foggy night, that's all she wrote..

Big rig was highballin'
Struck four boxcars, stallin'
"Case" made that ol' whistle whine..
And said to his brakeman,
"A jump you must take, Man..
This..is the end of the line!"

Casey Jones,
Tried to stop the train
Illinois Central railrod chain...
Legendary, he'll remain..
Standin' tall in Heaven's lane..

Big rig was highballin'
Hit those boxcars, stallin'
"Case" made his ol' whistle whine..
And said to the brakeman,
"A jump, you best take, Man..
(Cause) this is the end of the line!"

Casey Jones,
Rode that fatal train
Pryed him from the wreckage,
Where he'd lain..
Legendary, he'll remain
Standin' tall in Heaven's lane..

Legendary, he'll remain
Standin' tall in Heaven's lane..

Casey Jones, (Casey Jones)
Casey Jo-o-nes.....

This parody is right on track! ;)

I second to what Ribber said! I learnt a little about him in school and remembered suffering a tragic, locomotive death! Nice trib to the "Heroic Engineer", a true legend! We also know how famous he is for his train whistle, so here's 555 trains whistling tunefully, full speed ahead!

I second both comments above mine, and this parody's title reminds me of a well-drilling company whose offices and equipment yard are near where I live and visible through one window. Their name? Casey Jones Drilling Company. I think they were named for the famous engineer who's the subject of this parody. I'm gonna derail some 5s.

Airfarcewon was a hell of a man, he wrote them parodies well. Take the 555 to Winnemucca.
