Parody Song Title:

"A Rit of Fealous Jage"

Parody Written by:

John A. Barry

The Lyrics

“A rit of fealous jage”. . .[1]
I love that line!
It pumps way up my humor gauge
And I’m lyin’
On the floor cryin’
Tears of joy—I’m laughing
And rolling around
The floor, nearly crapping
In my pants, my face blanched as I howl.

A rit of fealous jage
A funny line,
So fine.

It’s a spoon-
er[erism] from “Goon
Show” alum-[2]
nus, whose “room” comes out how?
It is somewhere
In “ruyeem” vicinity.

I’m going now
To hear and
To watch P. Sellers, sage
Of comic time.

[1]One “Shot in the Dark” gag originated by accident: When Clouseau accuses Benjamin Ballon of killing Miguel "in a rit of fealous jage!" he obviously meant to say, "...fit of jealous rage." Peter Sellers was mortified at botching the line and asked for a re-take. Since the flub got such giggles from the crew, director Blake Edwards decided to leave it in.—per imdb.com.

JAB - I like this wordplay too. I guess we were born with silver spoonerisms in our mouths! My favorite was when my English teacher mangled "Huck Finn". ;D

Great wordplay, as OMR mentioned. Very entertaining, and yes, I did find out who Peter Sellers is and I also remembered seeing him in Pink Panther.

OMR: Or the actor who muffed the line, "Yon sits fair maid with hope in her soul."
Mark: Thank you!
Diva: You remind me of a line I just heard from Dennis Leary: "If you're 50 years old and have a big gold hoop in your ear, you'd better be a f**king pirate!"
Warren: Yank thou.
Christie: Thanks. Sellers salvages an inferior Blake Edwards flick called "The Party," if you get a chance.
