The midterm election campaign certainly had its low points. Although not patently offensive or dishonest, a low point was undoubtedly the constant repetition of automotive metaphors by the previously eloquent and inspirational President Obama. Perhaps he wanted to put the issues in language which "ignorant voters" (John Kerry) and "Homer Simpsons" (Czar Cass Sunstein) could comprehend! Please note I'm making fun of the inartful rhetoric...not the President (unless it's his choice and endless repetition of these Sesame Street illustrations). ;D

This stuff is getting deep!
This year out on the campaign trail - each time O. gave a speech,
He gave us all those auto metaphors - to lecture and to preach.
The Prez must have wanted to "drive" this home
'Cause he kept on sounding this theme.
If I hear D and R again - I think that I will scream!
Beep Beep! Beep Beep!
Those lines are really cheap!
To go for-ward put it in D - 'cause that means Democrat.
The progressive forward motion's what we are - it's where our party's at.
The Prez used to be far more eloquent
But he kept on spouting this jive.
His plans are much more like D.2 - he's stuck in overdrive.

This stuff put us to sleep!
The R is for Republican - and that means to go back,
For it illustrates their failed policies which - in my speech I attack.
The Prez must have thought this stuff glib and smart
As he drummed this into our face.
He may have done this just to please his U.A.W. base.

Who wrote them? Some big creep!
He used these endless car lines to - excoriate the "rich",
And said his opponents alone were to blame - because we're in the ditch.
He said the bad guys - ran us off the road.
We must never give them the keys.
So get to the back of the car! Was that offensive? Geez!

What votes did this stuff reap?
We try to put the car back on - the road. What do we see?
The Reps are not helping and what is more - they're drinking a cold Slur-pee!
Because of this endless campaign routine
And this constant foolish car talk,
The next time I want to go somewhere
I - just - think - I'll - walk!
Maybe we ought to put it in P for awhile and figure out how to drive! ;D
