Parody Song Title:

"Pelosi Lies Over Faux Torture"

Parody Written by:

Barry J. Mitchel

The Lyrics

US Congressional leaders were briefed as early as September 2002 on proposed interrogation methods to extract intelligence from detainees. Now some calling for investigations deny remembering.
Pelosi lies over faux torture;
Our Speaker's denying that she
Could know 'twould be used in the future
On people who'd kill you and me.

Refrain:
Bring back, bring back
Those briefing minutes, so we can see
Who heard what word
Of techniques enhanced legally.

They nixed any scrubbing with Brillo,
Permitted postponing the bed,
Prohibited smothering pillow,
Allowed waterboarding the head.

[Refrain}

I'm glad that no terrorist found me,
For their torture methods I fear.
Our trained men and women surround me,
So I'll live to see each new year.

[Refrain}

Obama is spreading the notion
That somehow our freedom is free.
He thinks he has some unique potion
To subdue their militancy.

[Refrain}
Ironically, the OS was about a Scottish naval war hero, perhaps an heir in spirit to the Scot who yelled "Freedom!" with his last breath.

Yes, it does seem like she goes with the flow of whether torture is or isn't OK. Great job on a current topic.

I have a better Refrain after Stanzas 3 & 4: Turn back, turn back Friendly persuasion of detainee. Bring back, bring back Those techniques that worked legally.

... and generally, you get more credit for varying each refrain or chorus, even though OS repeats it. More chance to show your wit; 3x the laughs for us. Thanks for the different POV and insight -- all politicians (in *both* parties) have exceedingly short memories, when it suits them. Now, TALK, you swine, or you'll be drowned in Fives!

Good job. What? Pacholek hasn't commented yet? Oh the humanity.

Very good spoof of San Fran Nan's selective memory.

Mel Gibson? I hope you don't think "Braveheart" was some kind of documentary ;-) Come to think of it, the "My Bonnie" the OS is written to features as a bit of a self-serving coward in that very film.

Still, a good write (not that I know a huge amount about Pelosi, but I reckon I can infer most of it from what you wrote)
