Parody Song Title:

"Shakers"

The Lyrics

original: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P55kYs15p_o
Shakers had some
real queer ideas
about baking oven buns.

Shakers destined,
thus, to fade
now there remains not a one.

No hope:
they scorned the pleasure
of man and girl,
so wee ones were not born,
no, none.

Shakers had some
real queer ideas.
and that’s why their cult is done.

JAB - What a cool idea for a series! If I may be so bold, I suggest using "From One Beer Lover To Another - Stroh's", "When You Say Budweiser - You've Said It All", "When You're Out Of Schlitz, You're Out Of Beer", "Mabel! Black Label!", and "From The Land Of Sky Blue Water". It's 7:30 AM EST as I'm reading this, but I have this overpowering desire for a cold one. Cheers! ;D

Shakers...was that like the Movers and the Shakers?

Schaefer Beer isn't sold in Kansas City, at least not in grocery stores, so it's not advertised on TV here. I had to look up the Shakers again. According to Wikipedia, there are only three remaining members, or just half-a-six-pack. The Mormons, who came along a few years later, from the same region, promoted polygamy, and look how many of them are around. If you get the calling to found your own faith, consider the two models.

Loved it-555! Did a spin-off in a different direction. JAB, you should do "Quakers" off this ;-)

Brings back some memories. I moved away from NY State before I could try any Schaefer (or Genesee, for that matter), but I still remember one of their old commericals. "OK, rookie, up on the barrel!"
