Old Stewball was a racehorse,
And I wish he were mine.
He never drank water.
He always drank wine.
First, one might suspect that a horse that drank that way would be too drunk to stand up, let alone race. But that's really beside the point. If we take seriously the "never " and "always" in these lyrics, they would mean that Stewball so drank from birth. In that case, we'd be talking about a short-lived foal that died from dehydration and/or alcohol poisoning, never growing up into a horse.
