One morning I had heard the refrain in a dream, and I woke up crying. Many years later, I looked for the lyrics on Google, and I came to realize that I was wrong: The subject of the song was a miserly rich man who wouldn't give anyone a dime and was now getting his just desserts. But I still cry when I hear the song.
