"Playground In My Mind"
The Nonsensical Lyrics: My girl is Cindy. When we get married,
We're gonna have a baby or two. We're gonna let them visit their grandma, That's what we're gonna do. Why They're Nonsensical: I'm not sure how this is supposed to work. Are they one fine day going to say to their baby or two, "Okay now -- any time you want to, you can go crawling off in your diapers and find your way to Grandma's house."? Hopefully not! When babies actually visit their grandmas, they are taken there at times not of their own choosing. There is no "letting" them do it involved.
P.S. I almost didn't want to post this, after finding that this song is sometimes utterly trashed online. I actually find it to be a generally delightful feel-good song, albeit with the nonsense in these particular lyrics! Submitted by: Karen Smith

The Dated Lyrics: My name is Michael,
I've got a nickel. I've got a nickel shiny and blue. I'm gonna buy me All kinds of candy. That's what I'm gonna do, Why They're Dated: Long gone are the days when even any reasonable exageration could express an expectation of buying "all kinds of candy" for a nickel.
