"Heard it in a Love Song"
Misheard Lyrics: Purty little love song
Original Lyrics: Heard it in a love song
|
Story about this misheard lyric by: Kaz Vorpal I simply have always thought that the singer, with his thick, probably somewhat affected southern accent (it's less strong in his other songs), was singing "pretty little love song", but it was coming out "purty little love song". A song about a pretty song. I just now was looking to see if I knew any songs by Marshall Tucker Band. I knew two others, but this only only seems vaguely, strangely familiar. So I was listening to it, and realized suddenly that it was "Purty Little Love Song", and that for forty-something years I'd had the name wrong. |

"Fire On The Mountain"
The Nonsensical Lyrics: Now my widow is grieving at my grave...
Why They're Nonsensical: That would mean the singer is dead - but if he's dead, how can he still be singing?

"Can't You See"
The Lyrics: I'm gonna take a freight train, down at the station, I don't care where it goes. Gonna climb me a mountain, the highest mountain, Lord, gonna jump off, nobody gonna know.
Why: This song is about getting dumped. It has a major key and you can sing along to it, but it's a real sad song.
