Parody Song Title:

"Forty Goats and Twenty Moo Cows"

Parody Written by:

Royce Miller

The Lyrics

from a newstory--a man from Kenya wrote to Bill Clinton asking for Chelsea's hand in marriage, and offering a dowry of goats and cows as is the custom....
My dad said you wrote a letter
Offering a big dowry
If he gave my hand in marriage
But we both said no-sir-eeee
Still, I hope you will find someone
Who will share your love and name
I guess goats and cattle are an
Awesome dowry, just the same

Chorus:
Forty goats and Twenty moo cows
Cannot win this heart of mine
I know Kenya is a nice place
And Nairobi's mighty fine
You can't win my hand with livestock
You know I'm one of a kind
Forty goats and twenty moo cows
Cannot win this heart of mine

Some angoras and some herefords
Will not win this heart of mine
Though it's an intriguing offer
I must turn you down this time
Hope you find a Kenyan lady
And you have a life sublime
Forty goats and twenty moo cows
Cannot win this heart of mine

Forty goats and twenty moo cows
Cannot win this heart of mine

Angoras and Herefords? Wow! Have you seen the prices on them lately? Maybe I'll adopt Chelsea (the best part will be giving her away!)....nice parody! Not familiar with the OS....but voted 555...as your track record speaks for itself!

Very cute treatment of the OS (wrote a parody of this OS myself, awhile back).

We give the Bush family the same offer once every generation, and they take it, so why shouldn't the Clintons?
Royce Miller - July 28, 2005 - Report this comment
Chuck, thanks for your comment especially since you DKTOS, and no, I haven't seen the prices on angoras and herefords lately (smile); this song was also done by Janis Joplin and others.
Tim Mayfield - July 28, 2005 - Report this comment
Definitely gamey. An offer you can refuse. 5's

I'm sorry I DKTOS but that is a very odd news story Royce.

All I know Royce, is that I wouldn't trade my cows for Chelsea!

Royce, this was a very moo-ving story...and, hey (or "hay" maybe??), at least I wasn't mentioned in it. After Rick C's piece yesterday I was a little worried when I saw the title...lol...5's ~ ~ ~

Chuck, I got your message, and Red Ant, I know it's odd, and I read it on the internet news, maybe MSNBC, not sure. A person can get some parody material from the news.

Royce: Maybe Bill likes Ian Klaus (the longtime top contender to be Mr. Chelsea). Or maybe he'd accept those cows if they were already in the form of steaks. Or maybe (you'll appreciate this one) Hillary said, "No thanks, we already have one horny old goat in the family." Shepherd: The Clintons won't take the offer because they're better than the Bushes. We have our own Bushmen in this country, and we'd prefer it if they were in yours. Permanently.
Royce Miller - July 28, 2005 - Report this comment
Michael-- your comment is stated in a way that only you could; yes, I like the horny old goat thing, and don't get me started on comparisons of the Clintons and wildlife (or domesticated creatures, as the case may be).
John Jenkins - July 29, 2005 - Report this comment
Royce, you are to be commended for uncovering this story and for poking fun at the concept of using a dowry to acquire a wife and for not poking at Chelsea. Well done.
