Song Parodies -> "Gent Whose Scent Sure Reeks at Fox"

Original Song Title:

"Twentieth Century Fox"

Original Performer:

The Doors

Parody Song Title:

"Gent Whose Scent Sure Reeks at Fox"

Parody Written by:

John A. Barry

The Lyrics

The "gent" referenced is Roger Ailes, who runs the fairly unbalanced Fox News Network. When I "googled" this troglodyte, the first hit that came up was a blog by an unfortunate guy with the same name. His blog tagline: "Roger Ailes, Not The Apologist For Dick F*cking Cheney."
Gent Whose Scent Sure Reeks at Fox

Well, he is far from lean,
But he fabricates great.
At least he isn't seen,
But his hired douchebags prate.
He's a gasbag. . .
Apparent when he talks.

He's the gent whose scent sure reeks at Fox.
He's the gent whose scent sure reeks at Fox.
He deals in fear.
It hurts your ears: his schlock.
He's the gent whose scent sure reeks at Fox, oh gag!

He's got screaming fools,
Whose moronic tirades grate
On your ears; as they drool,
The hard right masturbate.
He won't waste time
On facts—just lets 'em squawk.

'Cause he's the gent whose scent sure reeks at Fox.
He's the gent whose scent sure reeks at Fox.

His network's f*cked up—
Defines "idiot box."
He's the gent whose scent sure reeks at Fox, oh gag!
He's the gent whose scent sure reeks at Fox, oh gag!

You certainly have that jingoistic-lingoistic meter thing goin on! I don't know the song, but it scans most excellently!

Thanks, JD and TJC.

An underrated Doors song and a disgusting human being whose misdeeds go back to the Doors era: He worked on the '68 Nixon campaign. ("The Selling of the President 1968" by Joe McGinniss is a sickening but insightful classic.) CNN calls itself "The Most Trusted Name In News," but it could also call itself "A Cure For What Ailes Ya."

Sorry it took me so long to get here, Johnglebarry. I'm ashamed to admit that I don't know this Doors song, but your sub for the title line is splendid. Love the "idiot box" reference too.
