Parody Song Title:

"What's a Loo?"

Parody Written by:

Royce Miller

The Lyrics

My my, at Moore's Creek Bridge the loyalists did surrender
Oh yeah, the British invented a word
And now to this very day
That soft little roll on the shelf
Is always depleting itself

Chorus:
What's a loo? Just go in baby and shut the door
What's a loo? You know exactly what it is for
What's a loo? Place where you read the newspaper, too
What's a loo? Cute little place where you can pee and poo
wa wa wa wa, what's a loo?
Short little word that means a place to poo

My, my, I couldn't it hold it back, not any longer
Oh yeah, and now I'm so light I could dance
I'm turning out the light
The loyalists just had to lose
But gave us a word we could use

What's a loo? Just go in baby and shut the door
What's a loo? You know exactly what it is for
What's a loo? Promise to wash after you are through
What's a loo? You can catch up on your reading, too
wa wa wa wa what's a loo?
Nice private place where you can pee and poo

The loyalists just had to lose
But gave us a word we could use

What's a loo? Good place to run in when you're needing to
What's a loo? You can even find one at the zoo
What's a loo? Short little British word, a place to poo

Laurence-don't be sorry--I'm not. Yours isn't listed with most of the Waterloo parodies, which I looked at-quite a few. And yours and mine are delightfully different.

Pomfret, my fine-finned fish friend.......Nice to hear from you....I'm not looking for center; as you've noticed, I'm all over the map. I've seen alot of neat places that way.

Very entertaining and enlightening parody. Is there more to the story of how the word "loo" came into being at the Battle of Moore's Creek Bridge?
Susanan Viljanen - May 05, 2005 - Report this comment
John, actually the origin of the word "loo" is even older. I

Back in the Middle ages, it was common for the townspeople to empty their pots to street. This operation was preceded with yell "Gardez l'eau!" (Beware the water!) lest some unfortunate passer-by would get the secretions upon him.

"Gardez l'eau" pronounced in an Anglified way beomes "Garda Loo!". The latter part of the yell has now come to denote the poo-house.
