I respectfully disagree. . .expressing your opinions isn't about whining, sometimes bottling things up can be very unhealthy. Some of us do this to get things off our chest and out of our systems. .I hope you aren't terribly offended by my opinion, but I feel the song is a bit insensitive, but I also think it was just trying to be funny.

Paul, I like it. I don't disagree with Guest's outlook, often saying is a lot easier than doing. Note, though, that the author said he didn't exempt himself, and there's the rub. I thought it was more about people who delight in whinging (only) about stuff, like it's a lifestyle choice.

Guest - the pieces I post may, but do not necessarily reflect my exact opinion (or even my opinion at all, for that matter). They are written from a "perspective". No, one should not bottle up emotions. No, I am not at all offended by your opinions...in fact I welcome them..."Sensitivity"? You've got to kidding about that, right? While I have written warm, touching and sensitive parodies I don't believe that parodies are generally the best vehicles for such sentiments. Peregrin pretty much hits the nail on the head...when whining seems to be one's life vocation to the point that it takes the place of actually LIVING then one needs to move. But anyway, I wrote this like I write a lot of my stuff...for fun...I was listening to a CD of songs by "America" pretty much for the sole purpose of getting parody material. When I hear a line and an alternative line comes to mind that replaces it I started to see if I can weave something around it and that's how this came into being. No, the piece is not subtle - for subtle advice on developing a healthy outlook on life one should seek Professional Help rather than read song parodies (j/k) - Thanks for stopping in.
