The Lyrics

I met a lovely woman
It's good to be her man
But the thought keeps comin' to me
That she don't know who I am

Last week, I was givin' good lovin'
She said, "OH YEAH! DO ME, BRETT!"
"MM, OOH!, OOH!" And then
I looked right into her big brown eyes, and said,
"You ain't screamed, "Nelson!" yet
B-, b-, b-, baby, you just ain't
Screamed "Na-, na-, Nelson!" yet
I'm Nelson, but you just called me Brett
B-, b-, b-, baby, you know you ain't screamed
"Na-, Na-, Nelson!" yet."

I have a nervous sss-stutter
But I don't have a cure
But, if my name, she'd uh-utter
It'd be a help for sure

Last night I gave her good love
She said, "OOH, YEAH! THAT'S IT, CHET!"
I thought, "Who the hell is Chet?"
And then I looked right into
Her big brown eyes, and said,
"You ain't sscreamed, "Nelson!" yet.
B-, b-, b-, baby, you just
Ain't screamed, "Na-, Na-, Nelson!" yet.
I'm Nelson, I'm Na-, Nelson
But I guess you just forget, b-, baby
You know, you know, you know
You still ain't sss-creamed, "Nelson!" yet."

(Brief musical interlude)

This morning during our lovin'
She said, "MORE, OH YES, YVETTE!"
(Hmm, this just might work out yet!)
And then, and then, and then
I looked right into those big brown eyes
And said, "You ain't sscreamed, "Nelson!" yet."
"B-, b-, b-baby, you just ain't screamed
Na-, Nelson yet!"
"I'm Nelson, I'm Nnnelson
I'm Nelson
And I'd like to meet Y-, Y-, Yvette, baby?"
"Baby, baby, b-, baby but
You ain't screamed Na-, Na-, Nelson yet"
"You ain't screamed Nelson yet"
"Na na na na na na na na na yet"
"Na na na na na na na na na yet"
"Ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh"
"No you ain't screamed, "Na-, Nelson!" yet"

Since AFW got to the obvious joke first ("Your name is Nelson? And she don't know the half of it!")... I guess she hasn't figured out the answer to this Nelson riddle.
Rick C - June 28, 2005 - Report this comment
Thanks, Michael. Nice pun on Nelson Riddle you orchestrated.
Peter Andersson - June 29, 2005 - Report this comment
Here's the local twist, a few years back the biggest zoo here had its first rhino born in captivity, being masters of know-how to get publicity they managed to get it on the nationwide news with a name-it contest. For some idiotic reason they went with the suggestion "Nelson" in honor of Nelson Mandela. (Naming an animal keept behind bars after a human who spent 27 years that way, yeah right, he'd be soo proud [END MODE SARCASM]). But little Nelson turned out be born with heart/brain failure and died after 14 days of struggling on the front pages, ripping the record season right away from under the zoo's nose. God may work in mysterious ways, but some sinners really are stricken down immediatelly.

So whenever I hear the name Nelson, that's what I'm thinking of. But keep the horn up Rick!
Stuart McArthur - June 29, 2005 - Report this comment
I reckon there's more to this, Rick - I reckon Yvette and Chet have got something going (just a feeling) - and noone's screamed n-n-n-nelson yet to m-m-m-me either - should I be worried? - LOL funny, Rick - 555
Rick C - June 29, 2005 - Report this comment
Thanks, Peter, I will keep the horn up, LOL! Stuart, don't worry, be happy! Who knows, maybe Chet and Yvette will show up in another parody together.

[SOTM] As with Arwen's, I only know the chorus from the original song, but also was the case with Arwens, this was a clever bit of writing!
Leo Jay - July 08, 2005 - Report this comment
[SOTM] Good hell is this funny. Obviously, Nelson's Column must not be all that memorable an experience for the ladies...

(SOTM). Actually, I don't care if they don't scream, some women's voices are as annoying as the smell of burning rubber...

(sotm) already commented and still LOL-funny Rick - and when you do finally meet Yvette, can you introduce her to me? I like the sound of her ;-)
Spaff.com - July 28, 2005 - Report this comment
My problem is that my significant other, Yvette, ALWAYS calls me Nelson. That's not my name, of course, but it didn't bother me because I figured she was just referring to that Swedish rhinoceros. But after reading this parody, it all suddenly makes sense. You b-b-b-bastard.

Have you recorded this yet? I'd love to hear it.

Excellent, Rick - I've yet to think up a good idea for this song (and always seem to end up thinking of this one: http://www.amiright.com/parody/70s/bachmanturneroverdrive2.shtml instead, which is still one of my all-time favourites on amiright), but I'll get there in the end...

SOTM.. You captured the s-s-stuttering effect of fellow Canucks BTO perfectly. I personally thought this was going to be about Nelson Muntz from The Simpsons. Oh well. Well done, Rick. 555

Ha ha ha ha haaa! Nice one, I so wasn't expecting the theme. I thought it would be along the lines of screaming 'Uncle' as a sign of surrender when having your arm twisted off by an older sibling.
'Yvette'... ha ha ha haaa...

(abc3Y) still hilarious Rick - although I think the problem is deeper than Nelson thinks - screaming "Nelson" whilst in the throes of passion is unlikely to heighten the ecstasy imo - but maybe that's just me
