"Polls, Scram"

Parody Written by:

The Lyrics

Polls, scram, out of our life—
polls are not a truth surge.
Polls, scram, this ain’t real life. . .
need to get a truth urge.

Poll, scram, this ain’t real life. . .
twenty-four-seven noisy bore.
Endless drone assails ears and eyes,
trolling crew for views.

Such crocks, so much schlock,
useless things,
number ’round tossed,
naught but noise
and aural dross. . .
polling ho’s askew.

Polls, scram, get on out of our life;
they are not the truth.
Pay no mind, folks running to the booth.
So just avert your eyes
and instead be couth.

Lulling lies about both guys,
numbers bound to bring you down.
Shouldn’t mean that much to you;
they mean nothing to me.

It’s best to look past
those who poll and numbers cast.
Go and have a nice repast,
topped off with a brew.

Polls, scram; once your bullshit was rife—
they are not the truth.
Pay no mind, folks in the voting booth.
So just avert your eyes
and instead be couth.

Polls, scram out of our life—
you are like a tooth hurt.
Polls damned and bullshit rife,
nothing like a truth spurt.

At last, a political parody thar puts truth where it belongs. You think the aural assaulr in America's bad? You should try Japan, where no handbilling of election material is allowed and there are no restrictions on street PA systems in daylight hours. Noise pollution is an alien concept here.
