Song Parodies -> "See Sheila"

Original Song Title:

"Cecilia"

Original Performer:

Simon & Garfunkel

Parody Song Title:

"See Sheila"

Parody Written by:

Merry & Pippin

The Lyrics

Another switcheroo, or schmooze, or whatever you want to call it. This is the parodied tune:"Cecilia" on YouTube

If you are unaware of Tommy Roe's song (the subject of the parody), this is "Sheila" on YouTube

See Sheila, eyes making blue sparks
She’s shaking that ponytail gaily
Oh, see Sheila it should be a breeze
Her, picture with ease from the song

See Sheila, her cheeks rosy art
Her miniscule nosiness relay
Oh see Sheila - Tom’s asking you please
Roe’s plugging his squeeze in this song
It’s not long

Taking ride in the afternoon with my Sheila
Not in my bedroom (in a car!)
I got up the nerve to chase
When that lovely girl said
“Tom, I love you”, heart raced

See Sheila, she’s slaking my heart
I’m shaking: come-on’s might see failing...
Oh, see Sheila, astoundingly tease
Might, when she’ll agree to plate, home
Say “dawggone”

True frustration
Tom’s counting to ten
He’s taking cold showers and bathings

Consumation?
Not once OR again!
Why, song’s so softcore that I'm laughing

Great smoosh (what I call it)! - perfect selection of songs to combine (I read on Wiki that the name Sheila is related to the name Cecilia.) - 555!

Superbly done, and now stop trying to say that you two don't have the talent and creativity to do it both ways! (decides to rephrase that) ... to do each OS to the other! 2.5 2.5 2.5

kidding! 555 of course, but with your combined brainpower, the double-hitter should be easy! Here's an example of a 2-way to get you started:

Thanks JB, AFW, Derry and TT!

@Derry - we actually did a bunch of Cecilias; and tried hard to match the title syllables, this was one of them.

@TT: We are too lazy! (Well, one of us is, anyway...) We almost did that with Wild World, Wild Side, but ended up doing just the one half.

Gee, I wonder which one? ;)

You *do* know that you don't *have* to post on any mandatory schedule, right? ;-D If it takes twice as long to complete, it's still more than twice the fun to see both up at the same time. (Hint: Don't try APie and TWOTEF for your first double-header. ;)

The upside is that you have both OS's in your head anyway, and that actually helps -- the weird, I guess. ...

Merry: I, too, am wondering which one.......?

Bummer... that's a hard Roe, no ho.
Brock O'Brahma - August 25, 2012 - Report this comment
You could have done the switcheroo with a song tailor made for whoever is the lazy one. If I may suggest; "Tequila" by The Champs. And here are the lyrics: (Insrumental) TEQUILA! (Insrumental) TEQUILA! (Insrumental) TEQUILA! (Oh heck, I'll even do it for you) (Insrumental) CECELIA! (Insrumental) CECELIA! (Insrumental) CECELIA! :)

Cecelia...would you believe that's how they spell Cecilia in Oslo?
Peregrin - August 25, 2012 - Report this comment
wandlimb: Funny as always :) Tommy wishes there was some bummer, as it was he ended up 'blowing all his wages for the week, all for a cuddle and a peck on the cheek'...

Brock: Now, why didn't we think of that? :) I'm still amazed at Derry's comments about the names Cecilia and Sheila being sort of the same.

Well done. I’ve never tried doing one of these switches.

Peregrin - just seen your comment above. I bet Tommy won't know what OS those lyrics come from!
Peregrin - August 25, 2012 - Report this comment
Heh heh! I don't think he will either! That's partly why i chose it! Make him go and look stuff up like he makes me, ha ha!

Peregrin: Nothing in OS "Sheila" that says he didn't score. You couldn't say things like that out loud back then. Not quibbling over the song, just the comment. ;)

Andy: Try doing two of them reciprocally, you coward! :-D ;-D ;-D

Peregrain: Of course I know where the lyrics from "Cecelia" and "Tequilia" come from! ;)

Brock: Parodying instrumentals is verboten, and one repeated word isn't quite enough.....
