FINALLY. After a three-month drought (mostly due to school and activities interfering) I have overcome writer's block and written a parody. Granted, it's not my Bob Dylan project...that's still in the works...but it's an idea I was kicking about for a while and eventually developed. Enjoy. (And as a disclaimer, this is NOT autobiographical by any means. As Weird Al as my witness, I will never participate in any such low-scale beauty pageants.)
Got a little red zit on my face today
Ew, I cannot go out in this way!
I still need to put on ten pounds of cream
So my face is rid of its oily gleam
I have spent fifty dollars on this new lip balm
If I don't have a limo, then I won't be calm
Though this teeny gauze dress won't be approved by Mom
Like, I'm popular—I must be the queen of prom!
Matt from chemistry asked if he'd be my date (But, uh no, he's gross)
Y'know, anyone but jocks I hate (Ooh, HE can get close!)
Though this dude can't read, like, he's really hot (Though he tends to drool)
Better him than one whose teeth do rot (Mouth ain't minty cool)
Now ol' Butch, get your wallet, you must shell out bucks
To get yourself all dressed up in a fancy tux
You may say you look dumber than a bright red duck
But if the picture clashes, we'll be out of luck!
Got elected to court, duuh, of course I would! ('Cuz I'm so darn chic)
But the other ones, well, they don't look quite as good (In fact, they all reek)
There is Alice, she's the school's major slut (Wears no underwear)
And this freaky goth girl with a weird haircut (How'd SHE get up there?!)
If these other two chicks deprive me of my crown
They will make me appear like just a brainless clown
And I spent lots of money on this sexy gown,
So I surely will earn some kind of teen renown?!
Now the big day's arrived....eek, do I look fat?
And which hairstyle doesn't look like I am a rat?
And Butch better learn quick how to slowly dance
But tonight my goal isn't just about romance...
