Parody Song Title:

"Too Much Medication"

Parody Written by:

Yoidy

The Lyrics

Too much medication - throbbing in my brain
Too much medication - I'm bills for pills insane
Too much medication - crowding up my shelf
There's an indication - I think I need more health

Been prescribed Ritalin five or six times over
Forgot my doc's directions and made a Kaopectate soda
Yeh, gulped Thorazine, Lithium, and Vioxx
I took so much damn Keflex, I ended up in Iowa

Too much medication - hate these child-proof caps
Too much medication - "insert this in your ass"
Too much medication - speeding through my head
I've taken so much Prozac, I wish that I was dead

Um, took Lipitor, Nasacort, and Advair
When ladies ask me if I'm married, I tell them that I'm Singulair
Tried nasal guards, breathing masks, inhalers, and kid's chewables
If I'm no longer lovable, at least I am refillable

'Coz of too much medication - the cost is way too much
Too much medication - this cotton will not budge
Too much medication - morphing through my sleep
Too busy counting dosages instead of counting sheep

Oh, chewed Nicorette, Valium, and Pulmicort
My Dramamine's always on hand should I decide to exit port
Tonight my girl is fixin' me a tall Viagra sundae
With a marachino Cialis on top, I'll be hard Monday to Monday

Too much medication - pulsing through my veins
Too much medication - no longer am I lame
Too much medication - in bed, I'm her T. Rex
Final calibration - tonight, we Celebrexed

Good news! Good news!
I finally scored and shot one in her baby zone!
The bad news is that she's the mother
Of a 5.3 pound Prednisone

'Coz of too much medication - buzzing through my head
I've gobbled so much Paxil, I drilled my skull with lead
Too much medication....

Sick. Fivers.

DKTOS, but DGAF. This was brilliant, TMGLTM, but I have to say that "...tell them that I'm Singulair" was the marachino Cialis on top (oh, you got that one too?) You ought to enter this in SOTM. 555+

As Red Ant said, TMGLTM, but "morphing through my sleep" was pure pun genius.... Del Shannon, who snag "Runaway", shared your sentiments (committed suicide while on Prozac, IIRC). 555, and I too hate child-proof caps.

Thanks guys! And I will submit this to the contest. Don't know the guidelines, or how to go about doing it, but I'd like to submit this and a number of others. Thanks.

Nice job Yoidy, I really think this is one of your best parodies, now if you'll excuse me, I have to go take my toothache medicine.

I can relate, being a bit of a hypochondriac, myself

(SOTM) Hey Yoidy! I thought this was bangin' excellent! Give me some tranquilizers to calm me down! 555s for you Sir!.

(SOTM) An OS by The Police, and a concept that sounds like it should be literally sung by The Chemical Brothers.lol Great work Yoidy 555

(SOTM) Very funny, well-researched take on an unusual and difficult Police song. Chorus changing every time is a plus.

(SOTM) "Final calibration - tonight, we Celebrexed" I know I commented earlier, but as most have seen I go into greater detail for the contests than my daily reads. . .Yoidy, earlier I said this was one of your better parodies, well strike that--I think this is the best parody I've seen from you thus far. . .certainly gettin' strong considerations from me on SOTM status.
tomario - February 22, 2007 - Report this comment
"Celebrexed" don't know what it means but it made me laugh ! well yoidy you know your drugs how much research went in to this parody and when are you out of rehab? you've scored again 555

Thanks Dave and Tomario. I've had some allergy problems, but the drug ads on TV mostly inspired me. Someday I hope to outdo this parody!

SOTM - This parody is phat - I'll subscribe some 5s and Lipitor.
Phil Alexander - February 27, 2007 - Report this comment
Are you going to do a sequel: "A little less medication" to Elvis' "A little less conversation"? Just done a search to find it hasn't been done yet (kind of surprising, in a way). "Maraschino Cialis" on top of a "Viagra Sundae" was inspired :-)
Stuart McArthur - February 27, 2007 - Report this comment
(SOTM) You had me with "I think I need more health" Yoidy and then the funny lines just kept on coming - great work - loved the "hard Monday to Monday" bit too - 555

(SOTM) Huey Lewis and The News agreed with this parody when they pleaded for an invisible toupee with their song " I Want A Nude Rug ".
Tim Mayfield - February 28, 2007 - Report this comment
(SOTM) Loved the 'at least I am refillable' and the 'too busy counting dosages instead of counting sheep' lines.

SOTM - The child-proof caps are there to keep adults from getting into your position. Kids hate medicine and are smart enough to stay away from it. :P

Pete, Phil, Stu, JD, Tim, Charn, Wanna - thanks for imbibing!

Good job at having an obscure song make the SOTM cut. That's something me and Agrimorfee have been trying to do for months, and you were able to pull it off. So my hat's off to you.

. . . a T-Rex in Bed ?? ouch !! These lines are just so funny!
McKludge - March 30, 2008 - Report this comment
SOTY - The speed of some of the lyrics made it hard to check pacing, so I'll have to take your word on it. But I completely agree people take too much medication these days. I mean come on! Restless Legs Syndrome?
Jeff Reuben - March 31, 2008 - Report this comment
Great song, I really enjoyed this!

SOTY- I didn't realize that too much Keflex will wind you up in Iowa. Very well done, Yoidy.
