The Lyrics

Now we honor dear St. Paddy, patron saint of thee old soil
The pubs are strung with shamrocks - emerald streamers, shiny foil..
The sun is brightly shining, and tonight the moon will call
Don't have to be an Irishman, this time is meant for all...

So, let's wink and drink, let the bottles clink,
Barrels a' beer we'll chug away..
Best kind of celebratin' on this Irish holiday
From Portland to Tennessee, Dallas to Maine,
Mugs are foamin' throughout the land..
Let's raise a toast to Ireland, St. Patrick's Day is grand..

Pat Ryan's been rehearsin' for this day, almost a week
That's him there, horizontal, now and then he gives a squeak
O'Hara holds a pair a' mugs, from each he takes a swig
By morn he'll still be grippin' two, with belly, double big

Oh, let's wink and drink, let the bottles clink,
Barrels a' beer we'll chug away
Best kind of celebratin' on this Irish holiday
From Portland to Tennessee, Dallas to Maine,
Mugs are foamin' throughout the land..
Let's raise a toast to Ireland, St. Patrick's Day is grand..

There are lads and lasses dancin' to a grand old Irish song
On stage plays McNamara's Band, set for all night long
Food color makes an emerald ale - to match the time and scene
Tomorrow beer will amber be, and we will all be green

So, let's wink and drink, let the bottles clink,
Barrels a' beer we'll chug away
Best kind of celebratin' for this Irish holiday
From Portland to Tennessee, Dallas to Maine,
Mugs are foamin' throughout the land..
Let's raise a toast to Ireland, St. Patrick's Day is grand..

Oh, let's wink and drink, let the bottles clink,
Barrels a' beer we'll chug away
Best kind of celebratin' for this Irish holiday
From Portland to Tennessee, Dallas to Maine,
Mugs are foamin' throughout the land..
Let's raise a toast to Ireland, St. Patrick's Day is grand..

Let's raise a toast to Ireland, St. Patrick's Day is grand..

Why are there so many suicides in Ireland? Cause it's hard to kill yourself jumping out of a basement window!

I'm German Irish, AFW, so I'm always in a quandary as to what to do on St Patrick Day -- Should I go out to the bars and get drunk, or should I stay home and complete preparations for the invasion of France

I'm so glad that St. Patty's Day fell on a weekend this year! I always love celebrating that holiday, even though I'm not Irish. I enjoyed this Irish ditty you spoofed! Yeah, went to this Irish pub from where I live and I drank 3 glasses of Bailey's Irish Cream and one mug of Guinness! Luckily I wasn't the one who drove! Well, all I gotta say is great work me lad! Here's 5 mugs of Guinness, 5 Corned Beef Dishes, and 5 Irish Soda Breads, plus a pinch for good luck! Slainte! :)

Nothing about ' derGable ' that would ever illicit a 'yawn' Sir L'air de McFarce!
