Parody Song Title:

"A Very Little Christmas"

Parody Written by:

Airfarcewon

The Lyrics

This will be a very little Christmas
Since I'm unemployed
It looks like this Christmas
There'll be kids un-toyed

Forced to have a very little Christmas
Not the kind we'd like
Can't afford a doll for Jane,
Or Tim, a bike..

Here we are,
With short stocking fills
Stretching dollar bills, and more
So unlike happy golden days
Money foldin' days, before...

Someday soon, the world will come together
Hearts be light again
Peace on Earth
More love and more goodwill toward men
We'll make up for
This very little Christmas, then

More and more,
It's a scary world
Not the merry world of old
Hard to bear,
Are the times like these,
Terr'ble tragedies - unfold

Somday soon, our world will come together
Hearts be light again
Peace on Earth
More love and more goodwill toward men
We'll make up for
This very little Christmas, then

We'll make up for
A very little Christmas, then

A -1....You're not stretching the truth at all for a lot of folk.......Do you or anyone here ever hear Bill Anderson's - Po' Folks Christmas ?

I truly hope you're not writing this from personal experience, AFW; I know it's all too true for a lot of people. I've decided to interpret 'funny' as 'pathos' for the purpose of this parody, since it deserves absolutely nothing less than a 555 - sensitive and with a glimmer of hope throughout, and exhibiting your usual poetic flair.

Great stuff, AF—totally agree with Wendy's analysis—beautifully poetic.

What, no bike for me? Oh well, as you write so well, there is a lot more to be concerned about - including not losing hope.

I'ts hard to be humorous in the face of so much tragedy. Even the president was teary eyed in public.

So true, everything you wrote. Sad. But 555 for brutal honesty!

This parody isn't funny at all and there are a lot of people undergoing their own very little Christmas especially those families that lost their children last week. Its a mad mad world where your children aren't safe in their own schools any more and people can't even go to the movies without being shot.
