Song Parodies -> "The 100th Let It Be Parody"

Original Song Title:

"Let It Be"

Original Performer:

The Beatles

Parody Song Title:

"The 100th Let It Be Parody"

Parody Written by:

Phil Alexander

The Lyrics

I did a search for this song title
Ninety-nine results I see
Think I'll write the hundredth, Let It Be
And looking for the inspi-
Ration: there it is, in front of me
Two pages of titles, for e.g.:

"G.O.P.", "Twenty-three"
"Christmas Tree", "Set Us Free"
Written by (and titled) "Johnny D"

Ghetto John and John A Barry
Both wrote one called "Parody"
One that's understated: "Litotes"
Some subjects may seem scary
There are "Killer Bees" and "Breaded Fleas"
Programmers both "Write in" and "Hate" C

"Toast For Me", "Tommy Lee"
"Thirty C", "Thirty-Three"
Look there's Stu McArthur: "Stupidly"

Sometimes unoriginal:
There's five are all called "Gotta Pee"
Another two that follow: "Let Me Pee"
I see some mis-spelt "Mammeries"
(I'm sorry 'bout that, M & P)
At least there's no mis-spelling "Letter B"

"Mondegreen", "Howard Dean"
"LSD", "Let Aunt Bee"
I don't care 'bout Ethan's "Apathy"

Songs like these: "Fedda Cheese"
"Bumble Bees", "Big For Bs"
And by Phil Alexander, "Let It Be"

Sorry for double post, but it appears it won't let me vote.

Smiled from start to finish. This is another of those "wish I had thought of that" parodies. And special kudos for actually linking to all the referenced parodies.

One of the first daily parodies I've read in awhile, fun little parody referencing some of the best (and worst) Let It Be parodies this site and it's viewers have ever seen, clever little Phil aren't you

Great idea Phil! Why didn't you credit my 'Letter T' parody in this?! :-(
Phil Alexander - April 21, 2007 - Report this comment
Sorry, Jason - I managed to fit in thirty-something links (there's five in the word "gotta" alone) out of 100, so I'm afraid there was only a one-in-three chance... I didn't spend very long writing this - adding in all the links took more time (until I wrote a couple of macros to do the job for me). Anyway... how it came about was purely chance: I did a search for "Let It Be", and 99 results came up. Thanks, everybody :-)

OMG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! HOW DID YOU GET LINKS IN YOUR PARODY LIKE THAT!??!??!??!?!??!???!?!??!??!??!?!? I'VE NEVER SEEN THAT BEFORE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! AUTOMATIC 5-5-5!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Sorry about that, I got over-excited there. I mean, when you see something like that, things happen.

Dylan, you have to use html in your parody paragraph. Anyway nice work on this. (455) Be sure and read mine ok...
Jonathan S. - April 22, 2007 - Report this comment
I agree with Baranski. This is my first time seeing links in the parody itself as well. I'll have to try that sometime!
Phil Alexander - April 22, 2007 - Report this comment
You can get links into parodies in the same way as any html document, e.g. {a href="myurl.whatever.com"}link text{/a}, but use angle brackets (Shift+.,) rather than {}. I usually add a target=_blank after the address to make sure it opens the link in a new window.

I guess the most amazing things is... they're not all by John Barry! Even though it's easy to, uh, spell.
