Some songs have titles that aren't used in the lyrics, and end up becoming better known for their lyrics than their title. Bob Dylan's "Rainy Day Women #12 & 35" is better known for the refrain "Everybody must get stoned" than it is for the title.
Band | Song | Comments & Submittor Name
Hall & Oates | Kiss On My List | What's actually sung is "Your kiss *IS* on my list" - Jonathan S.
Halsey & Alanis Morissette | Alanis' Interlude | This song is a collaboration between these two women. - JohnHowarth
Harry Belafonte | Jamaica Farewell | "Farewell" is nowhere in the lyrics - Gretchen Wieners
Harry Chapin | Sniper | Though the song is nearly ten minutes long and is based on a tower shooting at the University of Texas in 1966, the word "sniper" never appears in the lyrics. - Dave H
Harry Chapin | Dreams Go By | He mentions years going by and dreams flying away and coming and going, but he never says "Dreams Go By" in the song - Raphael
Harry Nilsson | Remember Christmas | Harry says "Remember 'this and that,'" but there is no mention of the word Christmas anywhere in the song. The song has nothing to do with Christmas, and, I might add, it's a sad song. - Isac
Harry Simeone Chorale | Mary's Little Boy Chile | They mention "Mary's boy chile", but they don't say He was "little". - Ever Green
Harvey Danger | Flagpole Sitta | I'm not sick, but I'm not well./ And I'm so hot 'cause I'm in Hell. - Brian Kelly
Hawkwind | The Watcher | "A great cut (written by Lemmy), that finishes a very trippy album, it somehow dont mesh with the theme. Perhaps, the rest of the band was "watching" Lemmy's razor-wire beak slashing through the acid-eggshell that was Hawkwind." - princejellyfish
Hellogoodbye | Call 'N Return | If only you were here, things would be more magical If I were there, tight now would be more radical You're so not near, I'm wishing I could place a call - Katy
Hige Driver & halyosy | Hello Windows | No mention of Microsoft Windows in the lyrics. - JohnHowarth
Hollywood Undead | No. 5 | The fifth track from their "Swan Songs" album. They never say the title once. The chorus is as follows: "All the kids in the hood come and wave and shake your hands/Hollywood, we're never going down/ When you're drunk, shake that a** like you know how to dance/Hollywood, we're never going down. - Jonathan S.
Hootie & The Blowfish | Old Man and Me | The first line is 'Well an old man said to me', but it should be titled 'When I get to Heaven' because that's what's uttered more in this song. - Paul Warren
Hootie & The Blowfish | Hannah Jane | Should be titled "She'll be gone" because Hannah Jane is nowhere to be found even in the lyrics! - Paul Warren
Hooverphonic | Wardrope | "Tell me, Baby" is opening line. "I'm falling in love" is most often repeated line. Either might seem like what ought to be the title. "Wardrope" is never in the lyrics. - Axl Sean
Howard Jones | New Song | The word 'song' is mentioned a couple times, but it's never referred to as a 'new song.' - Larcen Tyler
Humble Pie | Natural Born Boogie | Sings "Natural born woman" in the lyrics - Alan Levitt |
