On the weekend of November 21, 2008 Kenny MacLean and Mark Holmes both of the 1980s band Platinum Blonde announced to a crowd at Mark's Mod Club Theatre in Toronto that the band was planning a comeback and that rehearsals would begin on Monday November 24.
But before any rehearsals could begin Kenny's bandmates had become increasingly concerned when he had failed to answer his phone.
Kenny's sister went to his apartment and found him in his recording studio bathroom collapsed and unresponsive. Media outlets in Toronto had begun reporting that Kenny had died from a drug overdose but initial autopsy reports stated that Kenny had a massive heart attack.
